It is important that everyone knows the symptoms of COVID-19 and monitors closely their own health and well-being. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19 you should stay at home,self-isolate (stay in your room) and get a COVID-19 test.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are:

Less common symptoms of COVID-19 include:

  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste– this could mean they're completely gone or just different to normal
  • nasal congestion (runny or blocked nose)
  • conjunctivitis (also known as red eyes)
  • sore throat
  • headache
  • muscle or joint pain (aches and pains)
  • different types of skin rash
  • nausea or vomiting
  • diarrhoea
  • chills or dizziness

In line with government guidelines, wearing a face-covering is mandatory in the Library as well as in all other indoor areas on campus.  If anyone, for reasons of disability or a medical condition, cannot wear a face covering, they should consult the Disability Service or their GP for advice.  These precautions are in place to protect the health of everyone on campus.
